This is a very interesting book! In it all animals can talk. Louise is a boy bear who joins the circus. After an argument with an elephant whose name is also Louise, he agrees to change it to Freginald. Freginald is very helpful in the circus and has many adventures.

This book is really four stories that get mixed together. The first is about a small mouse with big ears that falls in love with a princess. The second is about a light-seeking rat that wants revenge on the princess. The third is about an almost deaf girl who longs to be a princess. The last is about the princess, of course. To find out how these four stories get twisted together…you’ll have to read the book!
