The Georges and the Jewels

Author: Jane Smiley
Review Writer: Book Girl
This is a good book for anyone who loves horses. It is about a girl called Abby who lives and works at a place that her Dad owns. They buy rundown horses and train them, then sell them for a lot more. Abby is very useful, because whenever they sell a horse her dad tells them that a little girl can ride it. I'm not nuts about horses, and I still loved this book!

Caddie Woodlawn

Author: Carol Ryrie Brink
Review Writer: Book Girl
This is a very interesting book. It is about a girl who runs around with boys and is a friend of the Indians. She doesn't do all the ladylike stuff, like sewing and baking. And the best part is, she actually existed. I recommend this book to everyone!!!

Inkheart

Author: Cornelia Funke
Review Writer: Book Girl
Every page of this book is pure awesomeness! And it sure is a lot of awesomeness, because this book is 534 pages long. It is about a girl called Meggie who finds out that her dad can read things and people out of books when he is reading out loud. She finds out that when she was three her dad was reading out loud and read two villains and a fire-eater out of a book and read her mother, and the two family cats in. What could happen with people like that out loose in the world? You have to read the book to find out!

The Tale of Desperaux

 Author: Kate DiCamillo

Review Writer: Jeremy

This book is really four stories that get mixed together. The first is about a small mouse with big ears that falls in love with a princess. The second is about a light-seeking rat that wants revenge on the princess. The third is about an almost deaf girl who longs to be a princess. The last is about the princess, of course. To find out how these four stories get twisted together…you’ll have to read the book!

The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood

Author: Howard Plye
Review writer: Book Girl
This may seem like a cheesy classic, but it really isn't! It is about this guy called Robin Hood who lived in the 1200s. He had this giant band of people who went around stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. It seems like on every adventure he goes, he gets more people to support him.
