This is a really good book! It is about this girl called Saffron, but people call her Saffy. She is beginning to have suspicions about being adopted because her brothers and sisters are all named after paints (their parents are painters) and she isn't. And to find out what happens, read the book!
A blog for reviewing YA, children's, classics and whatever I feel like.
Also for discussing developments in the the book world, specifically in the St. Paul, Minnesota.

Halfway to the Sky
Author: Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
Reviewer: Cool Aunt Holly
This book (recommended to me by Bookgirl) is about Dani who decides to run away from home and hike the Appalachian Trail (more than 2,000 miles!!) all by herself. Her mother comes after her and finds her, but Dani convinces her mom to hike a little further. They meet lots of interesting people and Dani learns a lot about her mom and herself. If you read this book, you'll want to hike the Appalachian Trail too!

As Book Girl would say, this is a really good book! Book Girl herself recommended it to me, so how could it be otherwise? But boy is it sad. Keep your Kleenex handy! The fascinating part of the book is that the main character, Mia, has synesthesia. Sounds, numbers and letters appear in her mind in color. This is Mia’s big secret – she doesn’t want anyone else to know and think she is a “freak.” She doesn’t realize that there are other people like her in the world until one day she happens to meet a little boy who sees in colors too. This meeting, and troubles at school finally force her to tell her family the truth. And to find out what happens next, read the book.
